summertime

at the farm, means...
pool time

fresh food straight from the garden

baby blues...

big smiles

some much needed polka dots and pink

great views...

"work"

and prayers for rain...

= happiness in a nutshell

...especially when it rains!

Lines with Liam

Scene: Laying in Liam's twin size bed, oh around 9:27p.m. (over an hour past his bedtime), trying to get him to sleep.
Liam: Mom (he calls me mom now!)...we need to say our prayers!
Me: (silent for a moment because we have now said prayers three times already and I know he is just trying to buy time but I can't tell a kid he can't pray right?!) OK, Liam, who do you want to pray for?
Liam: You
Me: Who else?
Liam: Myself
Me: Who else?
Liam: Me
Me: Who else?
Liam: My's (How Liam says myself)
Me: Who else?
Liam: Liam
Me: (Trying not to laugh at this point) Who else?
Liam: (silent...completely asleep)
Me: (Thank you Lord! He is asleep! Prayers answered on both ends)

Scene: Outside in our backyard running around and playing on a beautiful spring evening.
Liam: (Stops dead in his tracks) MOM! I need to get my mower! I need to mow the grass.
Me: (Trying to get him interested in another activity) No, lets play catch!
Liam: No, I need to mow the grass!
Me: Liam, your mower is downstairs.  Lets ride your bike.  (Not wanting to go downstairs and drag his mower outside and listen to the popping noise it makes for the next 15 minutes.)
Liam: (Visibably frustrated, gives a Liam sigh) Mom, I'm just going to pretend!

Half Year Old People!

I have officially hacked in to my "mom's blog" and decided that I, Dax, should have a bi-weekly update on this said blog.  I am a master negotiator in my young age.  Basically that means you can look forward to what I like to call, "Daxs' Digs".  No hard feelings mommy, I still love you.

Yep, that means that I will give you the 411 on my life.  Today I am celebrating my half year birthday.  And for all of you who didn't wish me a happy half year today I officially accept your apology.  I understand you are busy.
I'm busy too...playing in this contraption my parents put me in that has 14 toys and is insanely brightly colored.  I get to stand in this thing and it is pretty glorious.

I still have awesome hair.  My Uncle "Bert" likes to mess with my awesome comb over.  He is just jealous of my hair.  Its  the battle of hairlines.  I win hands down.

I dominate water aerobics (a.k.a. bath time)...water everywhere.  Every. Time.

And I said my first word...drum roll please...
It was...

"Dada".
Sorry mom.  I am holding out on ya but I figured that its Fathers Day this weekend and well Dad is pretty awesome.  Love ya Dad!
I mean, he makes fart noises on my belly.

Until next time...keep it real
